Program Description:

Applied Business Program

Undergraduate and postgraduate students are invited to join the exciting Virtual Applied Business Project Program in June – July 2020. The program will run for a two week period on campus, where students will work on an international business consultancy project virtually (online).

This capstone program offers the exciting opportunity to undertake an industry-based pilot project with a multinational DHL International GmbH virtually. The scope of the project will involve project management, analytics, business or systems analysis, systems development or business case development. You will work as a project team based on skills and experience, and compete with other teams to develop the best outcome for a client. In addition to the project work students need to consider intercultural aspects working with a client in a non-Australian setting.

You will be supported by Deakin staff who will manage the program and facilitate the corporate discussions.

Note: Please carefully read the credit information part for eligibility criteria. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview.

Students will be based at the Melbourne Burwood campus for the duration of the program. Note that this will be completed fully virtually depending on the restrictions due to COVID-19.

The program will require a full-time commitment from Monday to Friday each week. Groups may be required to work afterhours or on weekends to meet project deadline and attend meetings with the business.

Program Dates:
Thursday 25 June - Thursday 09 July 2020

The program will be considered a Trimester 2 unit enrolment and the result for the unit will be released during T2 results release in November.

Dates to note:
Applications close: Sunday 22 March
Students notified of application outcome: Friday 4 April
Payment dates will be advised in offer letter.
