Program Description:



Undergraduate Sport Management Students are invited to join the Sport Federations and Major Events Management Summer Program run by Neoma Business School. The program will offer an opportunity for students to gain theoretical and practical understanding of sports business and sporting event management in France through a very interactive program while experiencing the French culture. Students will have the opportunity to learn from renowned specialists in the field of sport which would further enhance their experience.

Topics covered would include:
  • Sport Management the French model
    Students will learn about the French and European governance of sport as well as the key strengths and weaknesses.
  • Major Sporting Events
    Students will gain a clear insight into the organisation and running of major events and a unique understanding of the bidding process – Rugby World Cup 2023.
  • Careers and action plans
    Students will be invited to devise a career pathway plan and to create the implementation steps to their chosen projects related to sport management.
  • Guest lectures by renowned specialists
  • Visits to Federations in Paris
  • Sport social events including the Rugby 6 Nations Championships and the Freestyle Ski Championships
  • Time to explore the city

Please note that the program dates clash with the start of T3 2019 exam period and T2 2019 supplementary exam period. You can undertake the program only if you are not undertaking any other units in T3 2019 or don't have exams for your other T3 units.

The program cost will be €1100 (AU$1750 as per exchange rate 04/10/19).

This is an exchange program and there is no tuition fee paid to Neoma Business School (the cost above a program fee for all activities undertaken throughout the program), your enrollment will sit with Deakin University and you will pay your unit fee to Deakin as per usual.

  1. Students do not need to gain approval from a student adviser prior to applying for this program – eligibility will be confirmed by the International Team via Student     Services.
  2. Program cost is subject to change, students will be notified of final costs when applications close.
  3. Final itinerary is subject to change and changes to this does not qualify students for a refund.
  4. This program is available to Domestic and International students.
  5. *Students will be provided a full refund if Deakin Business School cancels the program.
