Postgraduate Marketing

"The best way to gain a deeper understanding of how marketing theories and models are used in the real-world to remain relevant and competitive in the marketplace." (2019 edition student)

Program
You are invited to join the revamped Marketing Study Program in June- July 2020, travelling through Netherlands, Sweden and Hungary!

You will be exposed to key themes of marketing including marketing management, segementation and positioning, and an understanding of the consumer; all in in European context and while completing one or two units. This program will also include various company visits in marketing-related organisations where you will be able to engage & network with like-minded professionals. Topics covered during the program includes (but not limited to):

1. Advertising across cultures
2. Global trends in consumer spending
3. Marketing for millenials
3. Europe's hottest start-up capital

Students will travel with two Deakin academics who will manage the program and facilitate site visits, lecturers, networking opportunities, social activities and study time.

Locations:
Amsterdam - Netherlands
Stockholm - Sweden
Budapest- Hungary
 
Activities:
  • A series of classes provided by academic staff from Deakin University.
  • Guest lectures and seminars delivered by senior managers of multi-national corporations.
  • Corporate visits examples: FCA Group (Fiat Chrystler Automobiles), KMPG and IBM. 
  • Time to explore famous locations in these cities and tourist attractions.

Program Dates:
Sunday 28 June -  Wednesday 08 July 2020
The program will commence at 1pm on Sunday 28 June and conclude around midday Wednesday 08 July..

Applications close: Sunday 22 March
Students notified of application outcome: Friday 4 April
Payment dates will be advised in offer letter.

*Students will be provided a full refund if the program is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
**Please note: All tours advertised are run on the proviso that current travel settings from International SOS and Smart Traveller will remain the same. Deakin University constantly monitors all travel risks, including the coronavirus, and should there be any changes in risk ratings, or travel warnings, then interested students are updated and tours reviewed.

The subsidised program cost is $2500.00

Important Information

Important to note:

  1. Students do not need to gain approval from a student adviser prior to applying for this program – eligibility will be confirmed by the International Team via Student Services.
  2. Program cost is subject to change, students will be notified of final costs when applications close.
  3. Final itinerary is subject to change and changes to this does not qualify students for a refund.
  4. This program is available to Domestic and International students.
  5. A minimum number of students (15) is required in order for this program to run, the Deakin Business School has the right to cancel this program if this is not achieved.
  6. *Students will be provided a full refund if Deakin Business School cancels the program.
  7. Students will still need to pay their Deakin Unit fee for each unit they participate in as per their normal fee arrangements.
