Hanyang International Winter School - Session 1

10 x $2,000 NCP grants available for selected students

About the program:
Hanyang is a private University which was founded in 1939 during the Japanese occupation. The university’s aim was to educate many engineers and technicians necessary for an independent Korea. It now has 23 colleges and 15 graduate school studies and is considered as one of the top universities in Korea. Hanyang International Winter School (HIWS) is held at the Seoul Campus which is located near the center of Seoul and has a subway station on campus so students have very good access to all areas in Seoul. The Seoul Campus boasts up-to-date facilities including libraries, dormitories, cafeterias, and coffee shops. Hanyang International Winter School (HIWS) offers two different sessions each session lasts for 2 weeks. The courses offered at HIWS cover various fields. Besides the beautiful landscapes that winter brings to Korea, HIWS organizes various activities that makes you get most out of your experience.

Location profile:
Seoul is the capital and largest metropolis of the Republic of Korea (commonly known as South Korea). Seoul is the world's 16th largest city and forms the heart of the Seoul Capital Area, which includes the surrounding Incheon metropolis and Gyeonggi province. The Seoul Capital Area houses about half of the country's population of 51.44 million people with 678,102 international residents. Whatever you want, at any time of day or night, Seoul can provide. An early morning temple visit can lead to a palace tour followed by tea sipping in Bukchon and gallery-hopping in Samcheong-dong. Seoul is heaven for passionate foodies. Whether tucking into the snacks of commoners or the cuisine of kings, you just can’t lose. Public transport is brilliant, so there’s no excuse for not stretching your travel horizons beyond the city limits.
