Shanghai Jiao Tong

Shanghai Jiao Tong University

SJTU Program is operated by Overseas Education College Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The SJTU Program intends to provide international high-standard, all classes are taught in English. Based on the Australian education standard, classes are conducted by a combination of teaching methods including in-class lectures, research and case discussion. Besides the academic part of the program, SJTU will also arrange various activities, providing students with opportunities to have cultural exchange and real experience of China’s rapid economic development.

Location profile:
Shanghai is one of the four direct-controlled municipalities of China and the most populous city in the world with a population of more than 24 million as of 2014. It is a global financial centre and transport hub, with the world's busiest container port. Located in the Yangtze River Delta, it sits on the south edge of the estuary of the Yangtze in the middle portion of the East China coast. The municipality borders the provinces of Jiangsu and Zhejiang to the north, south and west, and is bounded to the east by the East China Sea. Shanghai has been described as the "showpiece" of the booming economy of mainland China; renowned for its skyline, museums and historic buildings such as those along The Bund, as well as the City God Temple and the Yu Garden. From the architectural landmarks lining the Bund and the rickety charm of the Old Town to the leafy backstreets of the former French Concession, Shanghai is a city that just begs for wandering. And eating. You can slurp a bowl of hand-pulled noodles or bite into soupy dumplings for next to nothing, then splurge on cocktails and fusion fare while gazing out from a rooftop bar on the Bund, over the Huángpu River to Pudong’s space-age night scene.
