FBL US MarketingProgram

Postgraduate students are invited to join the 7th Deakin United States Marketing Study Program in June 2018. Students will travel through Boston, New York and Washington, D.C and will have the opportunity to complete one OR two units over this 10 day period in Marketing Management and/or International Marketing. Students will travel with two Deakin academics who will manage the program and facilitate site visits, lecturers, networking opportunities, social activities and study time.

Professor John Hall and Dr Adnan Yusuf will accompany this program.
 
“I was privileged to be a part of the US Study Tour with such a wonderfully diverse group of students. The tour was intensive, rewarding and a thoroughly worthwhile learning experience. We were fortunate enough to visit a number of companies (including Google, Microsoft, Hermes, The Walt Disney Company, and the Yankees) and spent some time at Columbia University and UCLA. Learning from senior executives, along with being briefed on current marketing trends and contemporary marketing theory was particularly insightful, an experience which would be difficult to recreate in a classroom environment, or from a textbook.” – Past participant

Activities:
  1. A series of classes provided by academic staff from Deakin University.
  2. Guest lectures and seminars delivered by senior managers of multi-national corporations e.g. Austrade, Amazon, Delta Airlines, and Ansell.
  3. Site visits to specially selected Fortune 500 businesses e.g. Samsung, Madison Square Garden Company, and Coca-Cola.
  4. Time to explore famous locations in these cities and tourist attractions e.g. CNN, and a Boston Sightseeing Tour.

Sunday 17 June -  Wednesday 27 June 2018
The program will commence at 1pm on Sunday 17 June and conclude at midday Wednesday 27 June.

Cost and Funding

Program Costs:

$3,805 USD (approx. $4,760 AUD as at 23/1/18) + flights.
A $2,000 grant will be provided to each Deakin Business School student participating on the program. (For eligibility questions please contact bl-abroad@deakin.edu.au)

  • Tuition fees for unit/s enrolment. 
 

Important Information

Important to note:

  1. Students do not need to gain approval from a student adviser prior to applying for this program – eligibility will be confirmed by the International Team via Student     Services.
  2. Program cost is subject to change, students will be notified of final costs when applications close.
  3. Final itinerary is subject to change and changes to this does not qualify students for a refund.
  4. This program is available to Domestic and International students.
  5. A minimum number of students (15) is required in order for this program to run, the Deakin Business School has the right to cancel this program if this is not achieved.
  6. *Students will be provided a full refund if Deakin Business School cancels the program.
  7. Students will still need to pay their Deakin Unit fee for each unit they participate in as per their normal fee arrangements.
