About the Program
The program offers a fantastic opportunity for students to visit some of the world’s most influential financial centres and institutions. It combines traditional study with experiential learning. Students will be able to experience the Indian culture by visiting several locations of historic and commercial importance.

The program is developed in conjunction with Deakin University’s institutional partner Symbiosis University.  The tour will include a series of industry visits and lectures, which will help students gain a practical and theoretical understanding of Equities and Investment Analysis.

Academic/industry content covered will include:
- Investment Environment & Instruments
- Risk and return
- Capital Markets
- Financial Statement Analysis
- Valuation of Equity Shares
- Economic, Company, Industry and Technical Analysis.

The program will also include social activities such as:
- Welcome and Farewell dinners
- Visit to the Bombay Stock Exchange
- Bollywood Dance Classes
- Dehli Sightseeing Tour.

Students taking this unit will be completing a unit matched to MAF307 - Equities and Investment Analysis


Eligibility:
  1. Completion MAF101 or MAA104 prior to starting program.

Program Costs:

The program cost will be $1000^.
Please note, domestic commonwealth supported students (HECS) can apply to receive up to $7,998 from OS-Help funding to support your program. Please read the criteria carefully.

^Full cost of the program to students is $4,000. Eligible students will be entitled to receive a $3,000 New Colombo Plan grant to support the cost of this program. Please see below for eligibility criteria.

New Colombo Plan (NCP) grants
This is a NCP funded program offering 15 x $3,000 NCP grants. You must meet the eligibility criteria to apply for the grant:
  • be an Australian citizen
  • you cannot receive a grant in a Host Location in which you have dual citizenship or residency rights;
  • be undertaking a Bachelor Degree or Bachelor Honours Degree
  • be between 18 and 28 years of age at the commencement of their program;
  • not have already commenced a period of overseas study in the same Host Location as the program;
  • not have receive more than one short-term and one Semester grant (with or without an internship) during their Australian course of study.

Important to note:

  1. Students do not need to gain approval from a student adviser prior to applying for this program – eligibility will be confirmed by the International Team via Student     Services.
  2. Program cost is subject to change, students will be notified of final costs when applications close.
  3. Final itinerary is subject to change and changes to this does not qualify students for a refund.
  4. This program is available to Domestic and International students.
  5. A minimum number of students is required in order for this program to run, the Deakin Business School has the right to cancel this program if this is not achieved.
  6. Students will still need to pay their Deakin Unit fee for each unit they participate in as per their normal fee arrangements.
