Did you know?
Normally, trucks that play music are associated with ice creams and kids running behind them. In Taiwan, you’ll be disappointed if you hear music and hope to buy an ice cream. Here the garbage trucks play music to prompt people to bring their garbage to the truck. Beethoven's Für Elise can be heard in the streets on a regular base and during the holidays you can expect Christmas songs.
In many ways this 300-year-old city is like a living museum. The Taoist temples buzz with the prayers of the hopeful; the wooden boards of Japanese-era mansions creak under the feet of visitors; and the pilfered treasures in the National Palace Museum date back 5000 years. Merchant villas to military barracks have been restored, reworked and now live again as a museum or a shopfront.
With legacies as varied as its adventure landscape and spirited traditions thriving alongside the cream of Asian sophistication, Taiwan is a continent on one green island. Famed for centuries as Ilha Formosa (Beautiful Isle; ???; Meilìdao), this is a land with more sides than the 11-headed Guanyin. Towering sea cliffs, marble-walled gorges and tropical forests are just the start of your journey, which could take you as far as Yushan, Taiwan's 3952m alpine roof.In Taiwan you can criss-cross mountains on colonial-era hiking trails or cycle a lone highway with the blue Pacific on one side and green volcanic arcs on the other. And if you simply want a classic landscape to enjoy, you'll find them around every corner. (Source)
NCCU operates with the US Credit System. 3 - 4 US Credits is equal to 1 Deakin credit therefore 12 - 16 US Credits is equal to 4 Deakin credits.
At NCCU a full time study load is considered to be a minimum of 9 credits.
A minimum of 6 (8 is recommended) Deakin credits are to be included in your study plan per trimester that you are applying for and for each university preference.
E.g. If you are applying for two trimesters and for two different universities? You would bring 6-8 units for T1 for each university and then 6-8 units for T2 for each university. A total of 12-16 units.
