About Florianópolis

FlorianópolisAs the capital of the state of Santa Catarina in southeastern Brazil, Florianópolis is a bustling but relaxed city located partly on the island of Santa Catarina and partly on the mainland, and is rich with history and culture. Called “Floripa” by locals, its beautiful weather, internationally known surfing waves, and island culture make it a wonderful destination for lovers of the outdoors. With an average temperature of 70°F, the sub-tropical climate lends itself perfectly to spending hours outside in the old town or enjoying the island's many attractions, including sand beaches, warm sea, Atlantic rainforest, pristine trails, and wildlife sanctuaries. Whales can be seen in winter. Throughout the year, swimming, windsurfing, sailing, snorkeling, and other water-based activities are available.

About Brazil

One of the world's most captivating places, Brazil is a country of powdery white-sand beaches, verdant rainforests and wild, rhythm-filled metropolises. Brazil's attractions extend from frozen-in-time colonial towns to otherworldly landscapes of red-rock canyons, thundering waterfalls and coral-fringed tropical islands. Then there's Brazil's biodiversity: legendary in scope, its diverse ecosystems boast the greatest collection of plant and animal species found anywhere on earth. There are countless places where you can spot iconic species in Brazil, including toucans, scarlet macaws, howler monkeys, capybara, pink dolphins, sea turtles and thousands of other living species. (Source)
