European Business Management Study Program
Saturday 17 June – Saturday 8 July, 2017

About the Program:
Undergraduate students are invited to join the European Business Management Study Program in June – July 2017. Students will travel through France and Hungary, and will have the opportunity to complete a unit over this 3 week period with partner university Ecole Superieure de Commerce d'Angers (ESSCA) - Understanding European Business Environment. Students will travel in a group of 24 and will be supported by Deakin and ESSCA staff who will manage the program and facilitate site visits, lecturers, networking opportunities, social activities and study time.
 
Locations:
Angers and Paris – France, Budapest – Hungary
 
Activities:
  • Guest lectures and seminars delivered by ESSCA staff on topics such as European Economics, French Culture, Fiscal Policy and Fiscal Politics, and Intercultural Communication.
  • Site visits to specially selected businesses e.g. Cointreau.
  • Time to explore famous locations in these cities and tourist sites e.g. Cha^teau de Chenonceau, Eiffel Tower, Budapest sightseeing tour.

Program Dates:
Saturday 17 June – Saturday 8 July, 2017.
Students are welcome to continue traveling after the program concludes.

Program Costs:
$5,500 AUD.
$1,000 grants will be provided to all participating B&L students to support the travel costs for the program! You must be enrolled in a degree within the Faculty of Business and Law while overseas in order to receive these funds. Plus, domestic commonwealth supported students (HECS) can apply to receive up to $6,567 from OS-Help funding to support your program. Please read the criteria carefully.

Unit Information:
Students will enrol in ESSCA unit MXP302 - Understanding European Business Environment.
Assessment will include a written exam plus verbal and written assignments throughout the program.

Eligibility:
All Undergraduate students who have completed 8 units at time of departure are eligible to apply for this program.
  • M300.1 Students studying a marketing major can select this subject as a major elective unit.
  • M300.2 and all other students will select this unit as a general elective.

Important to note:
  • Students do not need to gain approval from a student adviser prior to applying for this program – eligibility will be confirmed by the International Team via Student Services.
  • Program cost is subject to change, students will be notified of final costs when applications close.
  • Final itinerary is subject to change and changes to this does not qualify students for a refund.
  • This program is available to Domestic and International students.
  • A minimum number of students (15) is required in order for this program to run, the Deakin Business School has the right to cancel this program if this is not achieved.
  • *Students will be provided a full refund if Deakin Business School cancels the program.
  • Students will still need to pay their Deakin Unit fee for each unit they participate in as per their normal fee arrangements.
