Program Description:


FBL India Postgraduate Study P

Postgraduate Business students are invited to join the 'Business in India study program'. The program will focus on entrepreneurship, technology in commerce and the emerging markets. This program will invite 20 postgraduate students to travel to India and complete a unit towards their degree, over a 12 days period. 

Students will study topics such as:
  • Culture, Politics, Economics 
  • Globalisation, Trade and Investment
  • Theory of Firm, Competitive market and Monopoly
  • Basis of Trade-Theory Comparative Advantage, Market Equilibrium Concept

Industry/government visits and networking with organisations such as:
  • Austrade
  • High commission
Students will need to apply the theories taught in this topic to their industry visits and apply their new knowledge to their assessments.

Cost and Funding

Program Costs:

The subsidised program cost will be $1400. A $400 grant will be provided to each Deakin Business School student participating on the program. 

What is included?
  • Domestic transport
  • Visits to the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort
  • Industry Visits
  • Welcome and final dinner, plus some additional group meals
  • In-country transport
  • Twin share accommodation at Sheraton Hotels or equivalent
  • Breakfast daily
  • QBE comprehensive travel insurance.
What is not included?
  • International flights to/from India
  • Airport transfers
  • Passport and visas
  • Spending money
  • Meals not specified on the itinerary
  • Tuition fees for unit enrolment.

Important Information

Important to note:

  1. Students do not need to gain approval from a student adviser prior to applying for this program – eligibility will be confirmed by the International Team via Student     Services.
  2. Program cost is subject to change, students will be notified of final costs when applications close.
  3. Final itinerary is subject to change and changes to this or change of mind does not qualify students for a refund.
  4. This program is available to Domestic and International students.
  5. A minimum number of students (15) is required in order for this program to run, the Deakin Business School has the right to cancel this program if this is not achieved.
  6. *Students will be provided a full refund if Deakin Business School cancels the program.
  7. Students will still need to pay their Deakin Unit fee for each unit they participate in as per their normal fee arrangements.
